It is with great joy that after more than a year of praying, meeting, and planning, the Sanctuary Renovation Team presented our deacon body with a plan to renovate the space in our beloved sanctuary. The deacon body approved sending the SRT recommendation to you, the church, for a final vote on June 2nd. In the meantime, we want to provide you with every opportunity to pray, ask good questions, plan your generous giving if the church decides to move forward, and be prepared to say yes or no in a way that honors your convictions resulting from how you feel the Lord is leading you. As we progress, we’ve created the following schedule to serve you well and equip you with time and opportunity to be fully responsive and informed.
Church Notification Process:
Beacon: April 25th
Church Body: April 28th
Question & Answer Session: at 6:00pm on May 19th
Vision Casting & Vote: June 2nd
Remember, “and whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Col 3:17). As we move through the rest of this process, my heart for you is that you seek the will of God, act in a way that is becoming of his sons and daughters, and guard your heart against trivial distractions. You are the bride of Christ, and your great call is to cherish and delight in Him above all. This building renovation is not for us, for our prestige, or the furtherance of any earthly legacy. This building renovation is for the glory of God, the good of our city, and the future of God’s church. We aim to leverage our resources, property, and all our efforts to Love God, Love People, and Multiply Disciples.
On a personal note, I am incredibly thankful for Charlie Taylor’s persistent leadership as chairman of the Sanctuary Renovation Team. He has faithfully kept the project before the team with prayer, research, and timeliness. I also want to thank the team as a whole. They have been faithful to meet, pray, and voice their heart for the project and the church. I look forward to growing together.
